Katherine was raised by an elementary school music teacher mother and a carpenter father, who built musical instruments out of their garage. Raised in the Pacific Northwest (without cable TV, spooky!), she developed an affinity for fan fiction, creepy woods, community theatre, and sneaking downstairs to watch movies on their tiny basement TV.

Katherine earned her BFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University (Bob Hope Acting Award). Upon graduation, she worked in regional theatre and received "Dallas Mastermind" and "Best of Big D" awards for her contributions to independent, self-produced theatre. After training at the School at Steppenwolf, she moved to Chicago where she discovered how to survive a midwest winter and a love of improv and film.

She currently lives in Los Angeles. In 2023, her one-woman show, "Grown Up Orphan Annie" premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she received a Playbill Pick of the Fringe, and “Pick of the Fringe”, among others, from the Hollywood Fringe Festival. She has been seen on your TV in numerous commercials, Lovecraft Country, and The Ms. Pat Show. She co-hosts the monthly comedy show OBSESSED! at Baby Battista, and is a stakeholder with The Back Room Shakespeare Project LA- performing Shakespeare plays, fully memorized with one rehearsal- in a bar. She's also watched over 75 South Korean dramas (K-Dramas), and has a spreadsheet to prove it.
